Our Mission

Through service, outreach, and development, the Leadville Community Health Foundation promotes and sustains the highest level of healthcare for Lake County and our community by supporting the programs and services of St. Vincent Health.

Our Organization

The Leadville Community Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fundraising organization that invests in the important work, programs, and infrastructure of St. Vincent Health and the communities of Leadville and Twin Lakes. Its staff and volunteer leadership strive to carry on the hospital’s long history of caring for the community since 1879.

Why Give?

Individual, corporate, civic, and nonprofit gifts allow us to continue making progress toward a better tomorrow—and provide equipment and services that may one day help you, your family, your friends and neighbors. A tax-deductible gift combines with grant funds and other resources to enable improved community health.

 Areas of focus:

• St. Vincent Ambulance Fund: The total amount for the new ambulance $379,000.00. LCHF has donated $121,623.17 for the ambulance with a remaining balance of $65,702.04.
•  Lake County High School Scholarship Fund: 2026 will be our fourth year supporting students who have goals to enter healthcare-related careers with the desire to work at St. Vincent Health, Leadville, CO.
• Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Grant. This program will launch in 2026. This grant is designed to help local entities acquire life-saving AED equipment which will enhance emergency response readiness across our community.
• Community Emergency Fund: With the government shut down, the LCHF established a new Community Emergency Fund and donated funds to the local food bank. The foundation will continue to serve and assist the community when in need.
• St. Vincent Holiday Staff Meal: 2026 will be LCHF's fourth year providing funds for the St. Vincent Health Staff holiday meal on December 25th.
•  Endowment Fund: This year the LCHF established an endowment fund, which will enable continued growth and service to Lake County.
