Occupational Therapist, Maritza Wiedel grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO. Raised in a family of healthcare professionals, she has a deep appreciation for offering rural health services. Maritza believes that having increased access to rehabilitation services in such an active and hardworking community as Lake County is important and a great resource for patients.

Maritza excels at promoting independence, optimal function, and physical expression consistent with the client’s goals for their lifestyle. Additionally, she provides education that empowers her clients to have a meaningful role in their rehabilitation journey.

Though Maritza offers the full scope of occupational therapy, she specializes in upper extremity and hand rehabilitation, pursuing her Certified Hand Therapy (CHT) credential. Maritza’s training and experience have taken her around the nation, from outpatient hand therapy services at Region's Hospital (a level I trauma and burn center) in St. Paul, Minnesota to southeastern Utah where she provided hand therapy services for the Navajo Nation.

Maritza says, “Everybody's hands tell a story. I enjoy offering hand and upper extremity rehabilitation to promote an individual’s ability to continue doing what they love and need to do!”

A lover of all things outdoors, Maritza loves to mountain bike, climb, trail run, fly fish, and ski with her husband. We hear she is also a pretty good cook!
