Kelly Bergkessel, PT, DPT, COMT
Kelly Bergkessel is a doctor of physical therapy and offers traditional therapies and strategies for injury prevention, general physical conditioning and fitness, and new and emerging treatments, too. In her first career, Kelly was an electrical engineer. She soon realized that she missed interacting with people and the joy that it brought. As a swimmer and triathlete, Kelly had received physical therapy care and was drawn to the profession. She returned to school to become a doctor of physical therapy at the University of Colorado, also became certified in Dry Needling and Orthopedic Manual Therapy.
“In this profession that helps people, it’s fulfilling to help my patients get out of pain,” says Kelly. “I focus on tailoring treatments to individual patient needs, and getting them back to doing what they love.”
Not surprisingly, Kelly is a lover of outdoor recreation in addition to endurance sports. She practiced physical therapy in Anchorage, where she and her husband lived for five years. Leadville and the small-town life suit her perfectly, as does the high altitude and opportunity for winter sports. Her favorite saying? “Bring on the snow!”
