After spending 30 years as a financial advisor and executive, for both banks and brokerage firms, Coon retired to the mountains. He has served on several boards representing Wells Fargo and concentrated much of his work on finance in the nonprofit sector.

Coon and his wife love the small-town lifestyle and outdoor activities in Lake County. After purchasing a home in Leadville, Coon explored ways to be involved in the community. He found a good fit for his background on the SVGHD Board.

Believing that continued economic growth is important to Lake County, Coon understands that outdoor recreation and racing events draw tourism and revenue to the area.  He is an avid trail runner himself. Coon states, “A vibrant hospital for residents and visitors is essential to the economic future of Lake County.” He added that as a board member he is happy to give back in a small way.
