Dr. Terry Sullivan
Dr. Sullivan joined the SVGHD board of directors in 2022; he was new to Leadville and interested in helping promote the success of the hospital district. Sharing his experience and skills is his expression of contributing to the community he now calls home.
He believes that St. Vincent Health and services such as primary care and specialty care are important to the community especially when focused on interfacing with public health and promoting wellness. “This is the real key to a vibrant experience for the local population,” commented Sullivan.
As a board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Sullivan currently works remotely from his Leadville home as Senior Clinical Strategist, Principal for a consulting firm, the Michael Best Company. Sullivan’s vast experience includes board seats on the Colorado State Board of Health, Denver Medical Society and Colorado Medical Society. He brings the unique perspective of a physician to the 5-member board. Sullivan is honored to serve the Lake County community as a board member for St. Vincent General Hospital District.
Dr. Sullivan’s 4 grandchildren, skiing and sailing add to the richness of his personal life. In terms of his philosophy on health, he believes that as a culture, we focus too much on the medical side of wellbeing and not enough on the social and spiritual sides. At the top of Dr. Sullivan’s recommended reading is a book by Dr. Walther Borts, “We Live Too Short and Die Too Long.”
